Fire crews answering a call from Mrs Odell on Fifth Avenue extinguished a small blaze with little damage. Neighbors say Mrs Odell and Miss Odell were packing to leave for Cleveland when waste was burned. A spark from the chimney is thought to have started the fire. volunteers arrived within minutes, preventing a larger blaze.

Karl Lehmann secretary of the Lake County Chamber of Commerce is recovering at home in Montverde after an automobile accident. He was filming a watermelon patch trip when the car hit a hidden obstruction and he struck the steering wheel. He spent days in the hospital for examination and is ordered to rest a week or more.
