Lake County Fair Aims for Bigger Exhibits and Beautiful Grounds

Lake County Fair Association plans the Fifth Annual Lake County Agricultural Fair and Seventeenth Annual Poultry Show with new WPA built buildings in Eustis and a landscaped fair grounds including a decorative swamp turned lake. A meeting at the Court House in Tavares on June 6 at 8 p.m. will elect officers and form community committees to start early planning for 1939 exhibits and improvements across poultry livestock and 4 H clubs.

Zell Wins Prize in Snapshot Contest Class C

Mrs. George L. Zell won first prize in the Tampa Tribune annual amateur snapshot contest for a scene and still life photograph of the mill wheel and sluice at Juniper Springs. Weekly winners vie for grand prizes of 15 dollars. Zell previously won landscape prizes, including a grand prize. Stetson University Holds Weekend Commencement Activities

Stetson University DeLand completes undergraduate exams and hosts a weekend program. Red Cross Appeals for One Million in China Relief

The National Red Cross seeks at least one million dollars for civilian relief in war-torn China.
