Graduation events are scheduled for Mount Dora High School next week with a Baccalaureate sermon Sunday at 8 p.m. in the Methodist church, Class Day Thursday at 8 p.m. in the auditorium, and Commencement Friday at 8 p.m. in the auditorium. Death at Mount Dora crate mill cuts life of David S. Simpson
David S. Simpson, a Mount Dora leader and long time postmaster, died when a 12x12 yellow pine beam slipped during construction of a new crate and lumber mill. The beam struck him on the head at about 5 15 p m Wednesday April 20. He served as postmaster for nineteen years and was a prominent local figure. Funeral plans have not been announced.
