She will serve a six month trial starting Oct 1 with an increased recreation budget of 6000. She has a 1972 associate degree from Northwestern Connecticut Community College and a 1974 bachelor science degree from the University of Richmond. She is pursuing a master's in guidance and counseling at Murray State University. Her husband teaches at Eustis Middle School.

Debbie Jones 18 year old Mount Dora High School senior has been named queen of the 23rd annual Sailing Regatta to be held April 3 4 on Lake Dora. Event chair Hank Thompson Mount Dora Yacht Club and the club with the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce sponsor the event. More than 20 classes of sailboats will be represented and entries are expected to exceed last year's 266 sailors. Debbie is a 1975 76 MDHS Homecoming Queen and Key Club Sweetheart, daughter of Lt Col James J Jones and Mrs Jones of Sorrento. She works part time at the Holiday House in Mount Dora. Antique cars to return for fifth annual Mount Dora tour
The Antique Automobile Club of America Florida Region will hold its fifth spring tour in Mount Dora from April 9 to 11. About 100 antique and classic cars will gather with Lakeside Inn as headquarters. A Saturday parade and special programs downtown and at the Golden Triangle Shopping Center will showcase the vehicles. The organization is a non profit devoted to preserving automotive history.
