Doran named to West Point class of 1980
Gary Harrison Cheek has been admitted to the United States Military Academy at West Point for the Class of 1980. Nominated by Rep. Richard Kelly and a Presidential nomination, he moved to Mount Dora in 1971 and has since been active in civic and school affairs. He is a Mount Dora High School senior active in sports, student council, National Honor Society, and Kiwanis Key Club, with prior participation in Florida Boys State and various church and youth activities.

Lake County Fair Opens With Bicentennial Theme
The 1976 Lake County Fair and Flower Show runs March 22 to 27 at the Fairgrounds in Eustis. Highlights include Blue Grass Shows with Murphy Brothers, arts and crafts, 4-H and FFA steer show, poultry, farm animals, educational exhibits, outdoor Bicentennial Theater, high school bands, glass blowing, and nightly free shows. Admission remains $1 for adults with free admission for children until 6 pm Tuesday through Friday.

Mount Dora Council Talks Recreation Chief Pay and New Ordinance
