Meeting on education set for Thursday in Clermont

Antique Day Returns to Mount Dora with Fifth Annual Show
In Mount Dora on Saturday April 10 1976 the Fifth Annual Antique Automobile Show will be part of a town wide celebration for America’s bicentennial. Donnelly home and Lakeside Inn are highlighted as historic sites while back road tours showcase lakes hills and old Americana. Visitors are invited to enjoy parades displays and shopping in the Village and to return for memories of the day credited to Jean Cook Jedlicka.

Pancake Breakfasts Linked to Sailing Regatta
Two local groups host pancake breakfasts this weekend in Gilbert Park Pavilion to support events. The Mount Dora Jaycees sell pancakes from 5:30 p m on Saturday while the Triangle Elementary School PTA serves from 7 a m to 11 a m on Sunday. Public welcome.

Mount Dora Sailing Regatta Aims for Record Participation
The 23rd annual All Class Sailing Regatta in Mount Dora expects a turnout near a record 55 advance registrations, with 266 skippers last year and 25 to 27 classes possible this year. The event runs Saturday and Sunday on Lake Dora, featuring four races on a three mile course and new classes Butterfly, Z Catamaran, and San Juan 21. Awards include the Arthur H. Bosworth Memorial Trophy, Commodore's Trophy for Optimist Pram winner, Fowler Trophy for overall woman, and Lolworth Trophy replica, with presentations Sunday at Gilbert Park Pavilion.

Albert Crone 86 died in Mount Dora after long life
Albert R. Crone 86 of Mount Dora died Sunday after 20 years in town. He was born November 10 1889 in Sun River Montana and lived in many western states before moving to New York City then Massachusetts and Florida. He worked 25 years at Bowker Publishing, married Dorothy Knight in 1922, ran a hatchery near Northampton, supported local theatre and public groups, and leaves a son Peter a sister and two grandchildren. Burial will be in Massachusetts with Rehbaum Harden Funeral Home arranging.
