Citrus Loans Open for 1937 38 Crops in Florida

Applications for citrus loans for the 1937-38 crops are being received by C. R. Hiatt county agent at the courthouse in Tavares. Loans target farmers unable to obtain credit from other sources and cover immediate cash needs with a 4 percent annual interest rate. Lake county cattlemen met Friday evening March 12 at 8 oclock in the courthouse to form the Lake County Livestock Association. County agent June Gunn and state secretary spoke on state activities while W J Shealy praised organization. A constitution and by laws were adopted and the group affiliated with the State Livestock Association with P C Turner elected as director. This marks a step in developing Lake countys livestock industry.

West Spear Harlow a young Mount Dora businessman died on Wednesday morning March 17 after several weeks of illness. He was 33, born in Brockton Massachusetts, son of Herbert W. and Abbie F. Final Race At Mount Dora Winter Regatta

The fourth and final Mount Dora winter regatta race was sailed Saturday March 13 sponsored by the Mount Dora Chamber of Commerce.
