Navy Airman C E Sehulster of Mount Dora was named Sailor of the Month for Training Squadron Six at Whiting Field Florida for outstanding duty performance leadership and example set for fellow sailors. Sergeant Paul N Duvall of Mount Dora promoted to US Air Force after serving as aircraft mechanic in Japan. Jean F Finkel among Who's Who Women of the World. Calvin E Stevenson arrives at Elmendorf AFB Alaska, a Mount Dora High School graduate. Schools in Lake County shift start times ahead by one hour April 1. Mount Dora groups plan open-air band concert and bazaar
Mount Dora High School Band Boosters met to plan an open-air concert downtown in late March and a year-end band party. A second annual Bazaar to aid the Mt Plymouth Fire Department is set for Apr 6 at Camp Challenge on SR 46, with proceeds for the firehouse building fund.
