East Town forms committee to clean vacant lots
A City Council committee was formed Tuesday night to study cleaning up East Town vacant lots. Councilman C. O. Lott pushed the measure, citing hazards to children and snakes. Building Inspector John Ca noted many lots are owned out of state and unseen for years. Council President Gordon Dake appointed Lott and Cain.

Tutors Needed in Milner Rosenwald Tutoring Program
In 1968 69 VISTA volunteers started a tutoring project at Milner Rosenwald School to aid children below standard achievement levels. By 1969 70 Mt Dora St Edward Church women coordinated 18 volunteers from several churches. Current Middle School administration under Mr Sanwald supports a renewed tutoring effort with Miss Collins and Mesdames Campbell Disney Fritts Seebaugh leading.
