White Named To 1967 Easter Seal Campaign
George White senior of Mount Dora's First National Bank chairs the 1967 Easter Seal drive for Camp Challenge in Lake County. The Florida Society for Crippled Children and Adults runs the camp eight miles east of Mount Dora on State Road 46. Camp Challenge serves hundreds of disabled people statewide with rehab services, braces, walkers, and therapy, keeping ninety percent of Florida funds in state. Karl Lehmann is honorary chairman. Mount Dora residents have long supported the appeal.

Waterman Hospital Initiates Major Renovation Phase
Waterman Memorial Hospital begins a 1.5 million dollar renovation. The Pink Elephant thrift shop run by the Pink Ladies moves to a temporary location while work includes floor level changes, a new service entrance, plastering, rewiring, plumbing, air conditioning, ceiling lowering, and new dressing rooms and lounge areas. The project, led by Building Committee Chairman J. W. Brooks, is expected to take six to eight weeks.

HUD Official Sees Progress in Mount Dora Beautification Plan
Dennis Johnson of HUD met Mount Dora Area Urban Beautification at City Hall to discuss a long range cooperation program. He toured areas with Tax Assessor John Cain and Adley Associates' Gerald Dake and noted Mount Dora is further along than many cities in UB planning. Boat Course To Be Taught In Mount Dora
Lake County flotilla 43 of the Coast Guard Auxiliary offers an eight lesson basic seamanship and boat handling course at Mount Dora Community Building starting Tuesday March 14 at 8 p m. Classes run Tuesdays and Fridays through April 7. The course is free except for a nominal textbook fee and covers boating basics with movies visuals and instructor demonstrations.
