The Lake County Area Vocational-Technical Center holds commencement at the Mount Dora Community Building June 26 at 8 p.m. Kenneth A. Fagg presents James E. Gorman as speaker. Instructors award certificates and diplomas across fields including agricultural machinery, automotive, child care, horticulture, climate control, cosmetology, drafting, business education, welding, and high school diplomas to 193 students.

The Mount Dora Jaycees host the Mount Dora Golf Course event for boys and girls ages 9 to 18 in three divisions 9-11 12-14 and 15-18. Low score wins each division with trophies awarded.
