Mount Dora Lions Install Officers For 1970 71
The Mount Dora Lions and Lionesses met at Mount Dora Golf Club on June 30 to install officers for the 1970 1971 year and present the annual report. Outgoing president Lee Strong thanked citizens for support of Eye Conservation work and club activities. Thirty eight perfect attendance awards were given, and Past District Governor John T. Minor Sr. installed the new officers effective July 1.

Man of La Mancha heads to Mount Dora Ice House July run
The Studio Theater 68 cast for Mount Dora's Ice House Theatre July 10 to 12 features John McComb in the dual Cervantes Don Quixote roles. The production includes 21 on stage plus musicians, crew, and a director Clyde Hembree shaping the show with ancillary help from local Scouts.

Ray Named To Youth Board In Lake County Appointment
Congressman Bill Chappell announced the June 22 appointment of five Lake County residents to the Fourth Congressional District Youth Board. Jefferson Ray of Mount Dora and Jane Pearce of Tavares are among the appointees. Ray works as a youth counsellor for Florida Probation and Parole and Pearce is a secretary at the Gaylord and Ray law firm in Eustis. The Youth Board will advise the Youth Committee on local federal government cooperation for youth up through junior high. Tickets sales promotions with IceHouse ties are noted for group rates and profits.
