A Flag Day program featured a meeting in the auditorium with May or Lackey chairing and C T Purdy presiding. Patrons enjoyed patriotic songs, readings, and a Star Spangled Banner finale with Rev Bouterse delivering the benediction.

LeFevre suffers painful hip injury at Lakeside cottage

Cleveland resident H LeFevre, a Mt Dora winter visitor, fell at his Jasmine Avenue Lakeside cottage Addanett and injured his hip. He was X-rayed at Marblehead hospital and moved to Premont hospital by ambulance. He recently stayed with his grandson in Oak Harbor after his wife’s Florida death. Recovery may take months due to slow healing.

Unusual Vacation For Farmers Week At Florida College

Farmers and farm women are invited to the Fruit Grower's Week at the University of Florida College of Agriculture August 11 to 15. Plans by the College Extension Service Experiment Station and State Plant Board promise education and recreation across citrus crops small fruits pecans truck crops ornamentals and livestock. Dairy Day August 14 and other state meetings will be held. University facilities will be available at reasonable rates for a week of play and study.

Mount Dora Population Hits 122.2 Percent Gain

Preliminary 1930 census figures for Mount Dora in Lake County show a population of 1612 as of April 1, up from 725 in 1920, a 122.2 percent rise. The notice urges residents counted or uncounted to contact enumerator H. W. Andrews within five days and notes 47 farms enumerated in the area.

The Kiwanis club luncheon at Villa Dora drew members with a short attendance and ample food while Judge Koonce delivered a patriotic and inspiring talk praised as the best of the year.
