City Council approved a summer swimming program at Lakeside Innpool sponsored by the city. Funds were set for pool water and a removable fence for off hours. The Brooks family of McDonald sr. were notified today of a second death in their kin in one week. They had learned last week of the death of their son-in-law J. J. Woody of Rocksboro North Carolina from a cerebral hemorrhage. They traveled to Mulberry Florida on May 25 for the funeral of Joseph B. Pittman, Mrs. Brooks' brother.

Born August 22 1888 in Oconee County Georgia he 26 years in Mount Dora worked in fruit growing distribution for Standard Oil and auto sales He served as postmaster since October 17 and held lay leadership roles in the Methodist church He is survived by his widow Rowena a son Jessie Leesburg a brother W E Dooley Watkinsville Ga and three grandchildren.

Mount Dora area anglers learn seven lakes Dora Beauclair Carlton Gertrude Ola Joanna and Loch Leven have been stocked with 6000 fingerling bass. The Florida Fish and Game Commission delivered the fish ordered in 1945 by the Chamber of Commerce and Harold Goforth says more stock may follow as deliveries resume. About 60 percent of fingerlings are expected to reach 12 inches in a year.
