Fish were biting Sunday and Monday at the river flowing into Lake Beauclaire. Mr. Fred Ward of Winter Park helped by a friend landed a 9 1 4 pound bass Sunday morning. On Monday Mr. Sapp of Delta Ranch caught a nine pounder. Other good fish were taken by both parties while Monday afternoon produced no luck.

Rainbow Veterans Convention Reunion Ties World War I Unit
Mr and Mrs O D Stephens attended the Rainbow Veterans convention in Orlando July 11 to 15. Stephens met friends from Company C whom he had not seen since discharge in April 1919 and enjoyed the reunion with them. Nine men from Co C attended, the largest group from any company. Stephens served in Co C 167th Infantry 42nd Rainbow Division and was among the first U S outfits to land in France in 1917.

Aircraft Warning Observers to Host Visit in Mount Dora
Captain Busha and the Ground Observation Staff of the Army Signal Corps will visit Mount Dora's Aircraft Warning Service Observation Post on Saturday July 25. They will spend three hours with Observers meeting in the Chamber of Commerce office between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Mount Dora Post operates 24 hours daily since May 9, 1942, with 63 Observers. Florida alone has over 700 Posts manned by more than twenty thousand volunteers.
