The Bank of Mount Dora opened in temporary quarters at the Triangle Shopping Center offering full services from 9 am to 2 pm weekdays and 5 to 7 pm Fridays. Edwin Budge Mead said local turnout was strong and prizes will be awarded for account openings with winners notified by mail. The bank leases 40,000 sq ft near Lake Gem and US 441A with a permanent facility hoped within six months.

Lake County tax collector Paul H. Reed announced that more than 78 percent of the 1964 real estate and tangible personal property tax roll has been collected. Net collections as of December 31 are 3,908,959.40 with distributions to the Board of County Commissioners, Board of Public Instruction and various districts, plus state receipts for intangible taxes. Lake County agribusiness rebounds to near record level
Lake County's 1963-64 agribusiness income rose sharply from 1962-63, reaching 98.8 million while Growers and ranchers earned 58 million at the farm gate.
