Mt Dora to Upgrade Telephone Service in West Area
Florida Telephone's Mt. Dora district plans an extensive cable project in the western section starting within months. Carlton Johnston says materials are ordered, crews will begin on arrival, and the 60 to 90 day job costs about 96000 dollars. The work adds private lines, laying about five miles of cable from Lake Shore Drive to Bay Road with a main feeder and distribution logs.

Duplicate Bridge Returns to Mount Dora in 1956
In January 1956 the Lake County Duplicate Bridge Club formed and began playing in Mount Dora. Now two clubs operate in Leesburg and two in Umatilla. Beginning March 3 the Lake County club will meet Tuesdays at 7 30 p m in the Bank of Mount Dora social rooms. Members pay 15 cents, guests one dollar.
