Memorial Trees Honor Two Mount Dora Residents
Two memorial trees were planted in Donnelly Park to honor Charles Edgerton and J. G. Kirby. The Kirby tree is a native red cedar donated by the Oman Club and will become an outdoor Christmas tree. Edgerton’s tree is a red berry small leaf holly expected to mature as an ornamental centerpiece.

12 Pound Bass Brought in From Lake Beauclaire
Wednesday afternoon Harry Greenwood of Philadelphia presented a 12 pound bass caught at Lake Beauclaire. The fish measured 28 inches long with a 20 inch girth and had no scars or torn fins.

Miss Emma Leavenworth, now living in Seattle and Mount Dora part time, has learned to fly and soloed at fifty seven as the oldest woman to do so. She hosted a luncheon announcing lessons and impressed friends with her new skill, while connected to diverse clubs and sites across the country.
