The Men's Garden Club will hear about growing lychee fruit in Florida. Henry A. Simpson owner of Lucky Acres in Geneva will explain at the Community Building Monday evening, detailing his large lychee plantings.
Mrs. Keen, widow of Ed Keen, settles at Villa Dora in Mount Dora for the winter. She recalls past winters with Keen in Sarasota and Mount Dora and looks forward to a forthcoming history of the United Press that will recount Keen’s life in full.
St Edward's Episcopal Church will host Bishop Henry I Louttit for confirmation of a candidate class. Canon William L Hargrave observed the mission anniversary and dedicated a new organ at Grandview Street Church. Other venues report sermons by Dr Robert R Reed at the Community Church and Rev James Jones at the Methodist Church with youth services in the evening.
Waterman Memorial Hospital births report two baby girls. A 7 pound 13 ounce daughter to Mr. and Mrs. David E. Gosnell. Deborah Ruth born February 3 to another family.
The Lake County Ladies Chorus directed by Col. Eric Shilling will perform two more major concerts this week after an appearance at the Villa Dora hotel. They sing at a D A R meeting in Eustis today and at the Lakeside Inn tomorrow evening with soloist Mrs Ray Ingram and special numbers by Mrs John Kaufman Mrs Frank Kaufman and Mrs Ingram as a trio and by Mrs Charles Huntley on piano.
Mrs Slater Cox will address the Men's club of the Methodist church at 6 30 PM February 13 in Fellowship Hall The Dorcas circle led by Mrs R D Hodges will serve refreshments.
