Town Council Approves Carnival Permit at Ball Park
At the Feb 4 meeting the Town Council and Mayor granted American Legion permission to sponsor a carnival at the ball park for seven days starting Feb 9. They favored improving ball park condition but postponed final steps until cost estimates arrive. A. J. Waltz was appointed Tax Assessor. A one day per week relief for the fire house custodian was approved with remaining time allocated to police work. Equipment for the fire department and settlement steps with the Cooper estate were authorized, including storm sewer work and a new catch basin if possible.

On February 12, Ted Lancaster of the State Veterans Commission will tour Mount Dora at 2 30 p m to meet with veterans widows and dependents about service connected claims and benefits.
