The Mountain Lake Sanctuary lists four weekly recitals on Tuesday Thursday Saturday and Sunday at 3 oclock through April 14 1931. A Sunrise Service is planned on Easter morning and additional noontime recitals on February 12 Lincoln’s birthday February 22 Washington’s birthday February 25 March 22 and April 14.
Ray LaBreck of Mount Dora delighted a Yacht Club Smoker audience with his rich baritone voice and engaging stage presence. He has been broadcasting from Orlando on the Bob Jones hour hosted by Rev. M. J. Bouterse and is gaining recognition in musical circles locally and in the county.
A Villa Dora golf event at Howey-in-the Hills drew many players and solid scores. Tied winners include George Dodd and Ray Stillman with 71, Henry L. Wood also 71, and low putts by A H Edwards and J L Tyson. Hidden hole details listed for J T Simpson and Hiram Blanchard. An additional tournament is planned for next week.
Mr C A Bennett is building a two story boat house near the Mount Dora Yacht Club to store his Hallie R. from Kansas City and a fishing boat. The Bennetts plan winter cruising on Lake Dora Dora Canal and local lakes, promising much pleasure this season.
C. C. Moorhead, formerly on Fourth avenue, relocates today to the foot of Baker street. He invites friends to visit and inspect the new premises.
A card party hosted by Knights of Pythias and Pythian Sisters will be held in the Lodge Room next Tuesday at 7 30 p m Knights and friends are invited to attend and enjoy refreshments. Tuesday evening February 10th.
The Garden Club and Woman's Club met at Mrs. E. S. Burleigh's home to outline plans for a forthcoming flower show in the Pioneer building on March 19 20 and 21. Community groups held joint meetings and social events as part of a busy week in Tavares with Kiwanis and Tourist Club activities plus upcoming gatherings and visits by local officials.
The Mount Dora theatre is now under the management of H. C. Wales with Dr. C. M. Tyre of Eustis involved but not active. Wales, an experienced theatre operator, promises Western Electric sound and a high quality program to attract patrons, aiming to elevate the local cinema experience.
The annual Eustis celebration will feature a children’s parade honoring George Washington’s birthday. Local groups and schools plan floats and performances to line the route, showcasing community spirit and festive yellowing.

Numerous prizes will be awarded in various classes of the parade.
Work continues at the Panama City dock with several improvements planned to enhance loading operations and safety. Crews are upgrading ramps and railing while inspectors review structural elements for compliance and future expansion.
The Borden Milk Company and National Juice Company with National Dairy Products plan large scale orange juice freezing for New York City distribution. They anticipate rising demand, aided by other firms, as grapefruit canners face overhang and ad campaigns push consumption upward.
