The Christmas Musicale at the Baptist Church features pianist and choir director Gilbert Hanscom. Readings from Luke 2 8 20 and selections including Joy to the World O Come to My Heart Jesus Ave Maria The First Noel Silent Night and The Holy City with solos by Adam Ruth Shipes and others. Rev Sutley introduces the program.

Lake County became the first in its state to exceed a $300,000 quota in the Victory Loan drive, reporting $351.34 in recorded sales on Friday the 14th. The county also surpassed its overall goal with $924,981 in additional sales, nearing a total quota of $999,000, reflecting strong community participation. The drive averages suggest about $2,000,000 per drive, totaling around $16,000,000 for eight drives, a record Lake Countians are proud of. County leaders thank local chairmen, co workers, and communities for support.

Mr and Mrs Joseph E Banks of Ocala suffered injuries in a head on crash south of Ocala last Tuesday. Mrs Banks had a broken limb while Mr Banks escaped with head and face cuts. They are recovering at Ocala Memorial Hospital. The other driver's recklessness led to police detainment. Mount Dora teams play Clermont here tonight instead of Friday.
