The Pilot Club of Lake County hosted its Christmas party and dinner meeting at the Tavares Civic Center on Thursday December 9 with Miss Beth Parker president and the Executive Board leading the program. The First Methodist Church Youth Fellowship in Mount Dora will present the Nativity on December 21 to 23. The living tableau on the church porch has been part of the Christmas celebration for over 16 years and draws spectators driving by Fifth Ave. The costumes were donated by the late Mrs. W. E. Bancroft. Cast for Tuesday includes Dale Miller as Joseph and Susan Chapman as June Coleman with Cathy Stewart Janet Miller as wise men and Peggy Shaw Delia Saunders Lorene Brown as shepherds.

Mrs Audrey Welsh hosted St Marthas Guild of St Edward's Church for a Christmas music program. She traced carol history from the Angels First Chorus to a modern carol, performed pieces from the 14th century and Bach, and noted carols from various countries. The event ended with a tea and a fundraiser netting over 50 dollars for the Parish House building fund.
