4H members will join Saturday events as 4H club day at the county fair with poultry livestock and canning contests. Top poultry entrants will vie in a state judging contest at the Central Florida Exposition in Orlando while top livestock judges advance to a state contest in Jacksonville. Lake county gains greatly improved bus service under the Florida Motor Lines schedule effective December 10. New routes connect Orlando to Groveland and points west, while direct service from St Petersburg to Lake City via multiple cities is replaced by an optimized pattern. Interchange with Seaboard Air Line Railroad will allow through tickets and better access to Leesburg Eustis Mount Dora and surrounding counties.
