TheMount Dora High School Athletic Association promotes cleanliness from today urging students and staff to keep school grounds neat and trash emptied. It stresses personal responsibility and praises Golden Triangle Cleaners and Robert Mc for support.
Mount Dora High School placed second in District III at Stetson University with two teams in the round robin. The affirmative team was La Verne Townsend and Suart Sadler, the negative Eveline Von Herbulis and Billy McCown. Orlando won the group. Eustis led the second bracket, with Gainesville to state finals in Gainesville on April 30.
The Mount Dora High School biology class under Miss Meadows presents student collections of rocks shells leaves wild flowers insects and miniature gardens along with several drawings. The exhibition in the biology room opens after Friday April 22 and all are invited to visit.
Many junior and senior high students have been busy preparing posters for a school contest. Teams from both grades designed colorful displays, hoping to win prizes and gain recognition for their classes.
The Beter Homes in America Week posters for April 24 to 30 were created by Mount Dora merchants. Prizes went to top contributors with the rest divided evenly. Mrs Spilky chaired the committee with help from Miss Meadows and Miss Sawyer. Posters were judged Friday April 22 by high school teachers and prizes awarded at assembly.
Mount Dora High School baseball opened with a solid win over Eustis in Mount Dora. Lineup included Jers Marshall Andrew Bacon Heten Act Unt Nd, J m Mount Tapes Lane Beasley Wells McCown Stevenson and Durden.

Thomas H. Cooley announces candidacy for reelection to the Florida House of Representatives Group 2 in Lake County. He thanks voters, cites record and experience, and asks Democratic primary support on May 3, 1938, with paid political advertisement.
