A Harmony Sisters music program is planned for Music Week though details are kept secret. Last Thursday Mount Dora Kiwanis joined Tavares Kiwanis for an interclub, with D. Stuart Gillis introducing Marcus Pray of the Florida Home Society who spoke on its fifty year history and mission helping over 40,000 homeless children with low death rate.

Cameron, a draftsman for the Resettlement and Agriculture Department, had just graduated from the University of Florida in 1936. He attended the National Engineering Society convention in Jacksonville and visited Gainesville before going to Daytona Beach for a government projects meeting, then Crescent City to see a niece. He planned to return to Allendale South Carolina after the convention.

Fine Gymnasium To Be Built For Mount Dora School
Mount Dora Public School plans a new gymnasium on the east side of the quadrangle to seat 350 spectators. The project will be 5 percent locally funded with the rest covered by the Federal government with no strings. The facility will include dressing rooms, showers, two story wings for manual training and home economics, a basement storage area, and will add four classrooms of space.

Florida Float Stole the Show in New York Parade
Florida’s float in the April 30 parade in New York won first prize and earned a telegram of praise from the New York World’s Fair management.
