Two Service Stations Robbed Friday Night

Deputy Clarence Cooper Attacked During Arrest Monday
Deputy Clarence Cooper of Mount Dora was attacked by a Black man and woman in Astor Monday night as he attempted to arrest Spencer High on assault and battery charges. High struggled to seize the pistol but Cooper subdued them and jailed High in Tavares. High pleaded guilty and faced a $250 fine or six months’ jail from Judge A S Herlong Jr.
