Mrs. E. M. Wentworth hosted a Saturday afternoon tea for neighbors and friends to compliment her guest Mrs. W. S. Randall of Waban Massachusetts. Guests were served on the porch and in the dining room with lace table coverings and spring flower centerpieces.
A Mabelees hosted a supper party for eight with guests including Mrs. George Bidwell and Miss Margaret Simpson. King’s Daughters will host a boat ride from the Yacht Club at 7 p m. The Monday Social Club held a luncheon with bridge and five hundred games. next hosts are Mrs Fielding and Mrs Drake. The Ocklawaha Chapter D A R met in Tangerine with Miss Allen reporting on the State Conference and Mr G C Hendrickson delivering an address.
Miss Mary O Klein of Cleveland Ohio and J Collier Cooper of Mount Dora Florida married March 25 1943 in Jacksonville Florida. Mrs Cooper has spent several seasons here at her winter home on Lake Dora. They are at home 1038 East Fifth Avenue.
The Mount Dora Chapter 103 O E S will hold a regular meeting at the Masonic Hall on April 8 at 8 p m A cordial welcome is extended to all members through the notice.

The Lakeside Inn hosted Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Williams for a Dora Canal cruise, followed by M. B. Foster’s slide lecture inspiring orchid hunts in South America. Marie T. Carson and John T. Mercer won weekly putting, while bridge and Lexicon table prizes honored several locals. Concerts featured Pvt. Raviella, Pvt. Skolnicki, and Cpl. Herrick with pianist Mrs. Ray Hayes. New arrivals included Miss Mae Young and others from across the country.
Mrs Florence Hanscom entertained twenty five friends Wednesday evening at her Grandview Street residence. Colored views of scenes from New York State and Florida were shown by Miss Alice Davis and Mr J C Earl. Refreshments followed with Mrs Elizabeth Wentworth at the punch table and other guests assisting.
After a visit in Eustis the family faced a frigid Massachusetts winter. Mrs Broom and Billie rushed to St. Joseph on a wire about Mrs Lee Broom’s illness. Plane seats were needed by Army personnel in Jacksonville, trains full, forcing a return to Oro and Mount Dora. The ration board later approved gasoline for the trip.
Mrs. Roland J. Morse presided over a Board of Directors luncheon at Villa Dora on April 5 with numerous members and guest Mrs. Eardley Wilmot from Mount Dora Topic. Reservations for the Lakeside Inn annual luncheon on April 14 were urged by April 10.
Auxiliary Rosa Lee Beeland from Mount Dora Florida begins WAAC basic training at the Second WAAC Training Center in Daytona Beach. She undergoes medical exams, equipment issue, and classification, then moves to a 600 acre cantonment for drill, classes, and daily routines including reveille, mess calls, and a Saturday formal review.
A school assembly Friday the 16th will host a bond purchase for the Jeep Campaign. Organizers urge attendees to contribute to support the effort through the fundraiser event at the school.
