Mount Dora Red Cross Annual Meeting Highlights War Relief Efforts

The Mount Dora Branch of the American Red Cross held its annual meeting in the Ret central quarters on Fifth Avenue. With broad representation, officers reported full payment of War Relief and Lake County Chapter expenses, and numerous reports detailed hospital care, first aid courses, sewing, and knit goods sent to Leesburg and Lake City.

A Thursday evening Holy Week service at the Community Church begins at seven thirty. The quiet service will recall the Upper Room and The Lord's Supper first instituted on that night. Communion will be preceded by readings. all are welcome to worship.

Mount Dora Tourist Club Closes Season With Delight

The Mount Dora Tourist Club ends its fourteenth season with a successful show featuring a single performer’s convincing impersonations of Shakespearean roles. The audience praised the actor’s voice and enunciation, and the Wise Orchestra provided musical accompaniment. Annual Boy Scout Drive Next Week

Mount Dora prepares for the Central Florida Council annual fund drive with Troop 19 and local clubs aiding. The campaign runs April 6 to 13 with Lacey Thomas and Carl S Graves leading efforts to fund youth scouting statewide. Last year the drive raised 238 dollars through Kiwanis Lions King's Daughters and Woman's Club volunteers.

Easter Sunrise Service at Lakeside Inn Pool

The Band Boosters Club met at the school auditorium on March 26. Mrs. Vincent collected dues of twenty five cents. L Grady Simpson was elected vice president.
