Obituary for Gerald D. Fischer Bellmont welder and family man

Gerald D. Fischer, 74, of Bellmont, Illinois, died March 29, 2016 at Oakview Heights. He was born November 13, 1941 in Wabash County, married to Donna Alspach for 55 years, and worked 52 years as a welder including 45 as a pipefitter for Union Local 136. He enjoyed his shop, family ballgames, remote control airplanes, drag racing, and river nets. Survived by his wife Donna, sons Reginald and Randall Fischer, grandson Jordon Fischer, three step grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and sisters Jean Greeson and Patricia Fischer. Preceded by his parents, a son Rusty, and daughters Tina Marie Fischer. Visitation March 31, funeral April 1 at Keepes Funeral Home Chapel, Bethel Cemetery burial.

Funeral service for Genevieve Krug held at Highland Memorial

The graveside service for Genevieve Krug was at 10 a.m. on March 26, 2016, at Highland Memorial Cemetery. Pastor Deron Colgan led prayers and scripture readings as a eulogy and message were shared. Mrs. Colgan sang Amazing Grace and You are My Sunshine. Pallbearers included Gary Krug, Ryan Krug, Quinton Krug, Cody Yonker, Tyler Lopez and Jacob Alka.

Funeral service for Beverly Kay Morgan held March 23

The funeral for Beverly Kay Morgan took place at 1 p.m. in the Chapel of Short Funeral Home. Pastor Bobby Smith led prayers, readings, a eulogy, and a message with scripture. Music featured Brooklynn Lezon singing In the Garden, with Marcia Woodcock on piano. Additional hymns included Amazing Grace Hallelujah Amazed and Mount Carmel High School Loyalty and Alma Mater. Honorary pallbearers included Dave Pettyjohn Steve Winkler Jason Winkler Eric Meadows Derek Morgan Sean Morgan and Morgan grandchildren Madi Maddox Meadows Clay Kelsey Maverick Morgan.

Patty Duke dies at 69 after sepsis from ruptured intestine

Oscar winner Patty Duke died at 69 in Coeur d'Alene Idaho from sepsis due to a ruptured intestine. Born Anna Marie Duke in Queens in 1946 she won an Oscar as Helen Keller and later starred in The Patty Duke Show and Liv and Maddie while battling bipolar disorder and raising awareness for mental health.
