Bowman Stock Moved as North Wilkesboro Store Opens
Webb and Wrenn owners of the A G Bowman stock of goods sold it to Smmithey Mercantile Store of North Wilkesboro and moved the entire stock to that town by truck. The vacant Bowman store will be used by W W Cash Store and remodeled for occupation around June 25. The W W Cash Store quarters are leased by McClellans who will remodel and occupy the adjoining room.

Woltz Edges Carrico for Galax Mayoral Victory
In a tight city election on Tuesday De Costa Woltz was elected mayor of Galax by 53 votes over incumbent J P Carrico. Two years earlier Carrico defeated Woltz by four votes. J J Allen Ephraim Lennox and Floyd Edwards won town council seats, defeating S R Stoneman and Arthur Lineberry. The new mayor and defeated opponent are both listed as Democrats.
