Car Rolls Down High Embankment and Overturns
Late Thursday evening four occupants in a new Chrysler sedan traveling toward Mount Airy lost control near Wash Midkiff’s home. The car swerved onto a high embankment and overturned but all escaped injury. The driver claimed sobriety while two women and a man were passengers. The vehicle was badly damaged and had to be towed to a garageman, costing over a hundred dollars to repair. The riders were said to be from Stokes County, living several miles from town.
