Jessup Trial Tells Of Shooting At Towe Home
Testimony details Jessup's approach to Roy Towe, the fatal shooting, and claims by Leo Jacobs and others. Witnesses describe a pistol and cartridges, a long barrel eight and a half millimeter weapon, and Jessup’s alleged statements about the killing. The jury proceeds under first degree murder charges.
Jessup Trial Reveals Conflicting Pistol Allegations
The defense shows two witnesses saying Roy Towe carried a pistol at the Bunker Woods station before he was killed by Jessup. Prosecution witnesses claim Towe had the weapon as he fell, while others deny mentioning the pistol in sworn statements. Probing the gun’s ownership, threats, and past crimes, the testimony outlines a volatile Mount Airy feud culminating in a fatal shooting.
