Court House Offices Robbed Of Money
The Dobson court house was broken into on Saturday night with the register of deeds and clerk of the court offices ransacked. Thieves opened several drawers and took about $18 in small change from the two offices, leaving no clue to the entry. The same night Pete Hamlin's filling station was robbed of around $30 from a five cent slot machine.

Britt resigns as county health officer in Mount Airy
At the county board of health meeting in Mount Airy on Wednesday night Dr. T. C. Britt tendered his resignation as county health doctor effective immediately. The board accepted the resignation and placed the department under interim head Dr. R. C. Mitchell until a full-time successor is found. John W. Comer and state officials discussed staffing, while secretary Miss Mitchell, nurse Miss Reeves, and sanitary officer Mr. Hale continue their programs under Dr. Mitchell. A replacement is expected within a few weeks.

Tobacco Growers Sign Contracts for Reduced Plantings
