Pastor Resigns From Local Lutheran Church

Reverend H. A. Heineke, pastor of the Moulton and Baarsville Lutheran Church, resigns and plans to leave Moulton soon. The community regrets the loss of him and his family but wishes them well. A successor has not been chosen.

The Catholic Ladies' Aid Society met with Mrs. Richard A. Ettlinger on October 13. Dainty refreshments were served and the next gathering is planned with Mrs. Ernest Pelzel on November 3.

Moulton Farmers' Institute Holds Meeting and Resolutions

Henry Beadle of the State Department of Agriculture organized the Moulton Farmers' Institute on a Wednesday afternoon. Officers were elected: BF Helweg president, Henry Fisbeck vice president, FJ Butschek secretary, Joe Klinger business agent, B C Kaase live stock reporter. Resolutions urge withholding cotton from the market to curb losses and propose lowering the next year’s average cotton price.

Home and School Club Elects Officers and Plans Bazaar

The Home and School Club met at the Sam and Will Moore Institute on October 8. Mrs. George von Lienen was elected president and Miss Lou McDonald first vice president. The group authorized supplies and purchases for swings and safety items and set a November 6 bazaar with an afternoon sale. A social meeting with Mrs. Ed Studeman is scheduled for October 12.

First Death In Home In Seventy Five Years

John Kelley aged 83 years and 6 months died in Yoakum Texas in the house he had lived in for 75 years. He was the first death in that house in all that time and he and his eight children were all born and married there. Interment occurred Sunday at the Catholic Cemetery.

Small Plot Yields $636 From Garlic and Cotton

Frank Culak of several miles northeast of town cultivated 1.5 acres in garlic in spring, earning $450 cash and 590 pounds of seed. After harvest he planted cotton, picking a bale of 577 pounds and 60 pounds of seed, selling all for $186, totaling $636 from both crops not including 500 pounds of garlic seed.

Christening of Eton Johnnie Mueller At Lutheran Church

Eton Johnnie Mueller, son of Mr and Mrs John C Mueller, was christened at the Lutheran church Sunday morning with Rev H A Heineke officiating. Annie Sallavin and son Joe Ed of Oakland California visited at the Macy home before leaving for Platonia. Vladimir J Gajer, son of Mr and Mrs John Gajer, joined the navy recently and is headed to Camp Island California. Good luck to you.
