City police warn motorists in Luling that excessive speeding and running without lights at night are forbidden and subject to enforcement. The notice positions Luling as a model for other towns to follow.
The text lists Texas cities over 100000 residents and their counts: San Antonio 161,378. Dallas 158,976. Houston 139,036. Fort Worth 106,480. El Paso follows with 77,543 residents.

Moulton School Board presiding officer O F Koape attested by Aug W Janszen. Social notices list residents visiting Shiner and upcoming Farmers Union and American Party meetings at the opera house Sunday afternoon.
The Moulton Independent School District board met Friday October 8 with full membership. They set the compulsory attendance period to begin Monday October 18 and reaffirm that children of compulsory attendance age must attend for 100 consecutive school days. The board also ordered purchase of laboratory equipment and high school reference books.

Fred Fehrenkamp and Ursuella Stevens married at St Patrick's Church Houston on October 6 in a ceremony attended by immediate relatives. Fehrenkamp, youngest son of Mr and Mrs F T Fehren, is a 1914 graduate of the Sam and Will Moore Institute and served with the Thirty sixth division in World War I. The bride is a popular Bayou City young woman with many Houston friends. The Eagle offers congratulations and best wishes for a long, happy married life.
Gus Rewinger of the Texas League of Equal and Uniform Taxation spoke at city hall to a fair-sized audience. The league aims to pass a law creating a state board of equalization to ensure uniform taxes among counties. A Lavava county campaign committee was appointed: T. J. Ponton, M. E. Wolters, J. M. Canon, C. P. Garbade, E. J. Merrem, Hj Rook, Frank Kloesel, A. J. Blohm, A. G. Liebey, W u. Martino, L. Vrautwein and Henry Goetz.
Yoakum Texas October 9 Dr J D Gray departed Thursday for Montreal Canada to attend the Congress of the American College of Surgeons and will be away about one month.
A fine little boy hosts at Mr and Mrs Jerry Picha's home. Dr Adaus and family visit in LaGrange with Mrs Kaiser. Virginia Meiners returns from Shiner. Ezekiel Arvim sells property on Front Street for 6000 to Wehrenkamp. Papacek & Krause occupy the buildings. Charles Koester hosts Evelyns ninth birthday with relatives. Febrenkamp visit Houston for Fred Febrenkamp and Ursella Stevens wedding. Rudolph Schodde returns from three and a half years abroad with a wife in London. The Eagle extends congratulations and best wishes.
The body of Private Frank Simcek who died in France on October 7 1918 of pneumonia arrived Sunday and was taken to his parents home near town for the funeral Monday afternoon. Interment followed at Moulton Catholic Cemetery with American Legion honor and bugler taps.
Miss Stella Morgenroth and Mr. O F Schmidt were married at the brides parents home with Rev H C Beirman officiating. Only immediate family attended. The couple planned a bridal trip to New Orleans then will reside in Houston.
C M Kotzebue has turned over Moore Hotel management to his son in law W K Graves after thirty years of operation. Kotzebue is among Texas oldest hotel men and many travelers recall the hospitality of the Moore Hotel.
Hallettsville Texas October 9 57 new district court cases filed for the term opening October 8 with 45 divorces listed. Court to sit about three weeks with two weeks of jury and one week post jury proceedings.
The Democratic Executive Committee in Ballettsville Texas accepted the resignation of P H Green as county judge candidate for November. C L Stavinoha was chosen in his stead and is the current county attorney.
