Crop Outlook Is Very Good but Faces Tougher 1947
The 1947 agricultural outlook conference projects lower demand and average prices for farm products than 1946, though higher than 1945. Higher production of manufactured goods and rising expenses, taxes, and transport costs temper prospects, with freight car shortages noted. Overall, not a bad year, but tougher than 1946 and better than 1935–39.
