The Future Homemakers display garments they made in Homemaking II at Wagner's Cleaning and Pressing Shop show windows on Friday afternoon and Saturday until 5 p m. The exhibit includes garments made from new materials and renovated clothing. The public is invited to view the work from the local high school's Homemaking Department.
Coach Merrem's Moulton Bob Katz opened the season strong with a 52 to 22 win. Last year they claimed the district title and the public’s support is urged to back another winning campaign this year. Attend the games and cheer the teams to victory.
The American Legion urges generous response to the gift drive for Texas hospitalized veterans during the Christmas season. The drive seeks 10,000 gifts to bring cheer to G I Joe and G I Jane patients and asks readers not to fail to participate.
Saturday, November 23, marks Sister Kenny Day in Texas as counties campaign to meet a $150,000 quota. Funds will train technicians and build a clinic to provide the Kenny method treatment for polio victims.
Governor Coke R Stevenson designates November 25 through December 25 as Christmas Seal Month urging Texans to support the Texas Tuberculosis Association and county units by buying and using Christmas Seals to combat tuberculosis, the leading killer among 15 to 35 year olds.
Capt. and Mrs. J. H. Vanham Jr. of California arrived for a several weeks visit with his parents Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Vanham. Capt. Vanham is on terminal leave and they expect to make their home in Texas. They have lived in California for several years.
Federal internal revenue receipts in Texas totaled 58,469,523 dollars for October, down 5.5 percent from October 1945. For the four months of the current fiscal year, collections reached 289,479,282 dollars, a 5 percent drop versus the same period last year.
Mrs Henry Koester marked her 73rd birthday at home in Moulton on Sunday with out of town guests from Seguin Shiner Yoakum and local family members including Henry Koester Jr Earl and Garfield Kiel.

Edgar Freytag shot a four point buck on the Ed Kolar ranch below Hallettsville last Sunday. Mrs Gene Scrutchin of San Marcos bagged a sixteen point buck on the Scrutchin ranch near San Marcos Saturday. Scrutchin daughter of J T Jaeggli of Moulton.

The University of Texas reports 225 foreign students this semester from 33 countries. Mexico leads with 86 students, Venezuela 18, China 15, Nicaragua 13, and the Canal Zone 10. Countries also represented include Brazil Chile Guatemala Haiti Paraguay India Pineapple Islands Egypt Belgium Lebanon Palestine Syria England Argentina and more.
Alfred Carby of Seguin spent Monday in Moulton on business. Mr and Mrs Joe Kubenka Jr were in San Antonio Tuesday for business matters. Mr and Mrs Billy Vanham of San Antonio spent the past weekend with his parents Mr and Mrs J H Vanham. Mrs Tom Handsor returned from San Antonio after two weeks with Mr and Mrs Edwin Handsurange baby.
Frank J. Wick died at his home in Appelts Hill on November 13 after a long illness. He was born in Fayette County on November 2, 1878 and was 68. He married Johanna Hedweg Dietschke in 1904. Survived by widow five daughters a son a sister a stepbrother a stepsister and 16 grandchildren. Funeral Solemn Mass at Sacred Heart Hallettsville with interment in Hallettsville Catholic Cemetery. The Wick family had lived in the Moulton area before moving to Appelts Hill.

Mr. and Mrs. John Freytag quietly observed their fifty fifth wedding anniversary at their Moulton home Sunday. The couple’s local children attended and both partners remain in good health and active in later years.

Mr and Mrs Edgar Freytag and daughter Bernadette visited San Antonio Tuesday. Louis G Riske of Giddings general agent for Lutheran Mutual Life Insurance Company was in Moulton Wednesday.
A barn dance and games event at Herman Park Hall Sunday night, sponsored by the Catholic School Club, drew a large crowd. The event reported gross receipts of 421.50 dollars and was described as a success in every way.
Mrs Robert Harris of La Grange spent the early part of the week in Moulton visiting her grandmother Mrs Ed Boehm Sr and other relatives.

Moulton hosts basketball and girls volleyball events Friday night November 22 at 7 30 p m. The Moulton Bobkatz play Round Top Carmine after beating Fayetteville 57 to 22 in their season opener. Local fans urged to attend and support the teams.
Census shows 9 395 bales of cotton ginned in Lavaca County for the 1946 crop prior to November 1, compared with 13 626 bales in 1945. Frances Strauss, county cotton statistician, supplied the figures to The Eagle.
From the Eye Witness of Richland Springs Texas it notes W E Smith formerly superintendent of Moulton Public Schools is now with Richland Springs public schools marking his 38th year of teaching. He served 13 years as Moulton superintendent and has many friends in the area.
