Fisbeck wins state number sense title in Austin
Francis Fisbeck, son of Mr and Mrs G G Fisbeck of Moulton, captured first in number sense at the State Interscholastic competition in Austin scoring 450 of 500 and earning a gold medal. Moulton school earned a permanent plaque as peers Leon Jasek Emil Krejci Frankie Kubenka and Jimmie Holub took bronze in the 40 yard relay and the team placed fifth in the mile relay.

Fire Destroys Culak Home Near Moulton
The home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Culak Jr. four miles west of Moulton was wiped out by a Thursday afternoon blaze. Origin traced to an oil stove, the loss included all household goods with an estimated value of 10000 dollars. Insurance covered 2000 dollars. The fire, fanned by wind, spread despite brief containment efforts. The Culaks donated 50 dollars to the Moulton Fire Department. The Culaks reside in Yoakum.

The Future Farmers of America local chapter held a father and son banquet at Sulphur Park, last week, with barbequed mutton and beef, potato salad, coffee and soft drinks. Five honorary pins were given to J. W. Pyland, August Etlinger, Sed E. Kolar, O. F. Knape and Willis Barfield, with William Lee Young as MC and Francis Fisbeck presenting the pins. Lightning Strikes Two Moulton Homes Damaging Roofs
The Moulton Fire Department rushed to a thunderstorm call when lightning struck the Kasper residence tearing a roof hole and shattering second floor windows. A second bolt hit the Freytag home on Highway 95 causing a fire later controlled with water from a creek. No injuries were reported.

Mrs Klozik Dies Suddenly Near Dickson
Mrs. Frank Klozik of near Dickson died suddenly at Dr F M Wagner Clinic in Shiner on May 8 at 8 00 AM.
