About 1 200 Legionaries auxiliary members and visitors gathered in LaGrange for the Ninth District convention. Legislature’s Cost Increases $250000
Austin March 16 The Legislature will cost $500,000 this session after Finance Committee bills passed by the Senate. Previously $250,000 was appropriated and exhausted. Holbrook proposed $200,000 and $50,000 bills for mileage per diem and contingent expenses, making the total. Warrants could not be cashed due to a general fund deficiency and were being discounted before the bank holiday.

Cone Johnson Dies After Lingering Illness in Tyler
Cone Johnson former State Highway Commission member and long time Texas political figure died Friday night March 17 in Tyler after a lingering illness. He was in his 73rd year a Georgia native who moved to Texas in 1880 and settled in Tyler. He is survived by his widow.

Moulton Youth Dies After Brief Illness
Tom Balajka aged 18 years 2 months 21 days died at Shiner hospital from double pneumonia after a few days illness. He was reared in Moulton and had signed with the Reconstruction Finance Corporation in town Saturday. Funeral services were held at St Joseph's Catholic Church with burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. He leaves his mother and step father and several brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Frank Cinadr 78 Buried At Moulton Catholic Cemetery
Mrs. Frank Cinadr died at her home five miles southeast of Moulton on Wednesday March 15 at 7 30 p m. Funeral services were held Friday at St Joseph s Church with Rev Joseph Kopp officiating and burial followed at Moulton Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Konvicka John Cinadr Joe Klekar John Strieder F L Hofner and Joe Prasek. Born Agnes Sedlak in Austria she came to Texas in 1881 living first at Flatonia then Praha before settling on a farm near Moulton. She was 78 years 11 months. Surviving are her husband four children 14 grandchildren and one great grandchild.
