At a school board meeting the board voted to offer bookkeeping and typing to high school students. Bookkeeping will be available to tenth and eleventh graders while typing is open to all high school students. The district seeks a capable teacher to begin these courses and earn accreditation.

The Eagle reports a new road to Old Moulton Cemetery will be built soon. It will ease access for visitors during rainy periods and help those visiting relatives and friends buried there.
Rev C A Dickson and grandson L A Dickson traveled to Ft Stockton for funeral services for J L Moore who died from injuries after an accidental gun discharge. Moore, 76, long time Ft Stockton tax collector and sheriff candidate, was survived by his widow and several children.
The American Legion Band of Moulton will perform at Geier-Merrem Post 92 annual picnic at Herman Park on Sunday July 17 with a mid afternoon program. Fred E. Young State Department Adjutant will speak in the afternoon.
City officials seek a government loan and grant to extend the water works. The project would lay new water mains to additional areas and use net plant earnings to finance the improvements.

Mr. Charles Mladenko and family returned to Houston on Wednesday following a several day visit with relatives here and at other places.
Representative Paul C Boe thel of Hallettsville visited Moulton on Tuesday to campaign for his re election bid.
After several weeks with relatives and friends she returns to Austin on Tuesday to resume her studies at the Seton School of Naraing.
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Rehmet with children Leland Velma and Doris Arnim of San Antonio visited in Moulton Sunday along with Mrs. T. T. Walker of San Saba and Miss Alice Arnim of Houston.
Mr and Mrs Emil Grunwald and Mrs Henry Wachtendorf plus Mrs Vine Papacek went to Houston to visit Edwin Grunwald and family returning Monday.
Richard Mueck age 55 7 months 11 days was killed Saturday night when struck by an automobile on Highway 95 near Sulphur Park. Alfred Filipp the driver was blinded by headlights from an approaching car. Inquest was led by Judge A J Darilek. Funeral Monday from the home of Ad Schacherl with burial at Moulton Catholic Cemetery Rev Joseph Kopp. Pallbearers were Joe Albrecht Edwin Darilek Alfred Jahn Emil Filipp Marvin Haase and Alfred Filipp. Surviving are three brothers Frank in Chicago Adolph Waelder Anton Moulton and two sisters Mrs Arthur John Corpus Christi and Mrs Ad Schacher of Moulton.
Mr Frank A Cinadr and family and Mr and Mrs William Miculka attended the American Legion Convention in New Braunfels Sunday. They report a large attendance and a wonderful convention. Andrew Dilworth of San Antonio was elected Third Division commander for the coming year.
A Luther League was organized at Witting by Rev. E. Jacobs. Officers elected include Erma Stoeltje as president Leona Schneider as vice president Annie Apts as secretary and Olga Strattmann as treasurer.
Mr and Mrs Alois Zidek and their daughters Miss Helen and Miss Dorothy Jean Windel returned Thursday from Midland where they visited relatives and friends. They also spent a day viewing the sights of Carlsbad Cavern New Mexico.
The final filing day for candidates to enter the primary ballot was Saturday June 18. Campaign activity will heighten as the race builds toward Primary Day on July 23.
The Moulton Home Demonstration Club sponsored an ice cream and cake sale in the bank building Saturday afternoon. The club enjoyed a liberal patronage.

President Roosevelt signed a bill appropriating 900000 dollars to fund the Federal Government’s participation in the 75th anniversary celebration of the Battle of Gettysburg. Most funds cover travel expenses for aging veterans. about 12000 surviving “Boys of the Blue and Gray” remain, with an estimated 2500 expected to attend.
A large crowd attended the Witting school feast with noon dinner and afternoon lunch. Supt. T. H. McDonald of Shiner spoke supporting S. R. LeMay for state superintendent. County speakers included Boethel Stavinoha Olsen McElroy Strunk McGrew Bozka Hudson Fehrenkamp McDonald and Eilers. Judge B. J. Motis led ceremonies and Migl's orchestra provided music for the dance.
The Brenham concert band under F. J. Navratil will mark its fiftieth anniversary on July 4. The group is hailed as one of Texas best and has been a valued city asset with strong local support through the years.
Delegates Donald Bunting and Harvey Louis Fehrenkamp returned Friday from Amarillo where they attended the annual Texas State Firemen's Association convention. They will report convention activities at the next department meeting on the night of July 6.
The Moulton Boy Scouts formed two softball clubs at a regular meeting last week. A series of five games is planned with the losing team to host the winning team. entertainment details have not yet been decided.
Mr and Mrs John C Mueller and son Elton of Moulton along with Mrs Leon Helweg and son Daniel of Richmond left Monday for a pleasure trip to Colorado and other places.
