Moulton joins twenty four South Texas cities in a radio choir contest on WOAI San Antonio. Starting July 2 for twenty two weeks two choirs perform four programs each Sunday from 4:30 to 5. Moulton competes July 23 against Kenedy. Judges award 10 points each. listeners’ votes count 16 points.
Carl Dreher in Harper s urges citizens to treat politics as everyone s responsibility not just politicians. He warns constant reliance on others leads to bureaucratic power growth and government neglect of the people.
A reunion took place at the home of Mr and Mrs Richard Boehm Jr on Sunday. Attendees included Mr and Mrs Richard Boehm Sr and their son Raymond of Port Lavaca Mrs Frances Boehm and children of Placedo Mr and Mrs Dennis Salgiger of Victoria Mr Otto Hermes and family Mr Joe Bujnoch and family and Mr Eugene Hermes and family of Sweet Home. All reports say everyone enjoyed the gathering.
A pretty little girl was welcomed at the home of Mr and Mrs R E Echols Tuesday night June 20. Mrs Echols is the former Miss Dorothy Mae Casey, daughter of Mr and Mrs Q Casey of this place.
The author questions why Moulton lacks compared to similar towns and argues that action and effort are needed. Port La Vacas school board plans to teach twelve grades next year and trials show adding a twelfth grade works, potentially keeping students in school longer and easing unemployment.

Bridesmaids Marcella Mikulencak Hettie Brom Attendants Alexander Petruzela Jr Erwin Mikulencak. The couple's reception followed at the bride’s home with a dance later. The bride is daughter of Alexander and Mrs Petruzela of near Moulton and the groom son of John Mikulencak of near Moulton. The Eagle extends congratulations.
The Herman Park Verein elected officers for the coming year at its recent annual meeting. Fred F. Fehren kamp was named president Theo Wenske vice president G. J Bohnenkamp secretary Charles Lueke treasurer Johanie Fishbeck Guag Fixbeck Bud Huff George Mueller and Frank Meyer named directors. Forty nine members attended.
The Moulton Business Men's League met at the American Legion Hall with a small turnout. Members voted to contribute 10 toward expenses for Lavaca County 4-H winners attending the Farmers Short Course at A and M College. Plans include reviving the waterworks expansion, beginning street work next month, and steady progress on Oak Grove road. A light lunch is planned for the July meeting to boost attendance.
The St Josephs Society of Malton elected officers for the coming year including William Bratrieh as president and John Raab as vice president. The Christian Mothers Society also named officers with Mrs Martha Hoepfl as president and Mrs Emma Biebunke as secretary.
Officials in Hallettsville arrange facilities for the New York Age Administration program headquarters. A workshop building will be erected to employ unemployed youths aged 18 to 25 as part of the project.

Mr. Ben Kocian of San Marcos spent the past weekend here. He is principal of the Branecky School and is attending summer school in San Marcos.
Mrs. Ad Nachlinger Mrs. Werner Cordes Mrs Ray Hobbs and Mr Walter Spiers of Taylor visited the Louis Fehrenkamp home last week Wednesday. Mr Spiers also attended to business matters here.
Samples of clay and mineral deposits shown by H. W. Haase of Moulton at the Yoakum Tom-Tom celebration drew strong interest. Experts praised the deposits as of superior quality and observers foresee industrial potential for Texas as development accelerates.
Parents must transfer their children to a different school by August 1. Transfers are filed in the county superintendent's office and require signed blanks from local trustees if approved. If not approved, a meeting with the county board is set for Saturday, August 5 to decide the transfer.

Mr and Mrs Otto Janszen and their son Gordon Wells of Fl tonia accompanied by Miss Ora Willis Janszen of Moulton left last Saturday for San Francisco to attend the World's Fair.
Sam Jaeggli Jr of Moulton and Barney Wotipka of Flatonia report a wonderful Western States tour and expect to be gone about two months.
Mr. Ed Kolar and Mr. Anton Kolar with their wives drove to San Antonio on Monday morning. Ed Kolar was admitted to Grace Lutheran Hospital for treatment as friends express wishes for his speedy recovery.
The Moulton Branch of the Farmers League held its regular meeting at the High School auditorium. K E Voickel of Austin spoke on government classing and marketing, urging farmers to form multiple groups matching cotton varieties. The secretary will invite Paul G. Haines from A and M College to attend the next session.
County 4 H records list outstanding clubs and members chosen to travel to A and College as representatives. Swine winners include Joe Roeder Bunjes Club with second to Joe Havel Bunjes and third Milton Jobb. Cotton winners Lester Raab Oak Grove with second Edgar Raab. Poultry winner Elwyn Lorfing Shi loh Club with second Frank Havel Conn and Edgar Henrichs. Second place may substitute if the winner cannot go.
The Moulton Volunteer Fire Department racing team placed fourth at Harlingen with a 21.03 second run amid 34 towns competing. San Benito set a new state record at 17 seconds. Baytown 20.0, Cameron 20.1, Schulenburg 22.0. Delegates and team members will report at the next department meeting.
The Moulton Ice Plant operated by Central Power and Light Company is the county altar sole ice producer. Water is tested daily and deemed absolutely pure. The plant serves local trade and supplies ice for Shiner and Flatonia.
Revival meetings at the Old Moulton Baptist Church began Thursday night June 22 and run through Sunday night July 2. Robert Deal, formerly of San Antonio, leads the services. Public is invited to attend.
Raymond Fishbeck son of Mr and Mrs John F Fishbeck of near Moulton wed Miss Mary Migl daughter of Mr and Mrs Frank Migl of Sweet Home at Queen of Peace Church in Sweet Home The ceremony was conducted by Rev Maneth of Yoakum with wedding party including bridesmaids Viola Migl Eleanor Fishbeck George Mig Rudy Kubenka and others A reception followed at the bride’s home and a dance at Midway hall. The couple will reside on the Fishbeck farm near Moulton.

Lavaca County records show 90 notaries public qualified for the next biennium, up from 87 in 1987. County clerk D. L. Hudson notes the rise and highlights the growing roster of active notaries in Hallettsville.
