Peanut Growers Questionaire At Lavaca ACA Meet
At the Lavaca County ACA Committee meeting in Hallettsville on June 3 Chairman Edgar Freytag announced a plan to measure 1948 peanut acreage over 1.0 acre for possible 1949 1950 allotment records. All 1948 peanut growers were mailed a May 1 questionnaire asking planting dates to aid farm calls for acreage measurement. Freytag urged nonreporting growers to submit their information if planted. No 1948 allotment limits exist but data will help set future quotas if imposed by the Agriculture Secretary per the 1947 referendum.
