The Moulton volleyball girls beat Shiner on Friday January 9 with scores of 15 to 10 and 15 to 12. Lineup included Beatrice Flessner Juanita Rothbauer Myrtle Hildebrant Emily Krejci Allyne Heinsohn and Jeanette Wendel.
The Moulton Bobkatz defeated the Shiner Commanches 45 to 14 Friday night for their first district victory. Kolar led with 15 points, F Kubenka added 14, while Dusek topped Shiner with 9. Bobkatz visit Flatonia in their next district game on January 16 at the focal gym.
Mrs Mary Jaksch died in Palacios Texas on January 8 at 78 years 2 months and 23 days Funeral services were held at St Josephs Church in Moulton with burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery She is survived by a son Prank Jaksch of Palacios She lived in Moulton for many years and moved to Palacios several years ago

Mrs. Ferdinand Meyer 75 mother of Joe Meyer of Moulton died in Schulenburg January 1. Burial followed January 3 at St. Rose Catholic Cemetery Schulenburg. Survived by husband Ferdinand Meyer three sons Eddie Ferdinand Alfred of Schulenburg and daughter Mrs. Agnes Meyer of Borden.
Zion Lutheran Church residents gathered Sunday morning January 11 for the annual meeting. Officials reported a very successful year across all branches and two new council members, Walter Haas and Alfred Hildebrandt, were elected as building plans discuss and preliminary work to start soon.
Robert Samuel Meyer of Moulton Texas has been accepted for the U S Navy. He will report to the naval training center in San Diego California for recruit training after transfer from the Victoria recruiting station.

Yoakum has let a contract to build a new sewage disposal plant at a bid of 74 725 dollars. Local labor will be used where possible providing jobs for 20 Yoakum residents.
