Walter J. Fehrenkamp a prominent Sweet Home resident died Saturday in Shiner hospital after an illness of several weeks. He was 54 years old and had lived in Shiner for many years where he managed the Farmers Gin and Mill Company at Sweet Home. Funeral services were held in Shiner with Rev. Bily and Monsignor L P Netardus officiating. He is survived by his widow and three sons Cornelius Edgar and Henry his mother Mrs Ben Fehrenkamp one brother Ben Fehrenkamp four sisters Mrs O C Henkhaus Mrs Gus Seims Mrs KE R Staach and Miss Lillian Fehrenkamp. The Komensky Parent-Teacher Association met on Tuesday February 1 with strong attendance and several new members, bringing the total to over one hundred. A shade tree planting plan was discussed and set for St Valentine’s Day. A play Aunt Samantha Rules the Roost was performed by outsiders. A second play Fifty Fifty will be presented March 5 by high school students for volleyball and basketball teams. The next meeting, a social, is scheduled March 9.
