Moulton Branch Farmers League Elects Officers
The Moulton Branch of the Lavaca County Farmers League held its first meeting of the year at the Parish Hall with F. K. Hinck as president and Ad. A. Haas as secretary treasurer. Elected officers include Hinck president Henry Butschek vice president and Haas secretary treasurer. Forty five members enrolled and 302 last year. The next meeting is scheduled for Monday March 20 with details to follow in the local paper.

Census enumerators are busy counting children of scholastic age in district schools. The census must be completed in March and parents should cooperate so every eligible child is enrolled. Each enrolled name adds 22 to the district’s school fund.
Highway Meeting At Smithville Discusses Route Completion

Aged Citizen Laid to Rest At Shiner Saturday
Jacob Filip aged 81 years nine months and twenty one days died near Shiner on February 23 after a long illness. A native of Europe he moved to Texas in 1875 and lived in Fayetteville Prabria Moulton and Shiner. Funeral held Saturday with Rev Kostobryz officiating and burial in the S P J S T Cemetery at Shiner. Survived by seven sons, two daughters, 38 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The Eagle extends sympathy.
