The Parent Teacher Association ordered a new curtain for the auditorium and seniors hope it arrives in time for commencement. On Tuesday the PTA presented a book titled Treasure Valley to Eve Koester for writing the best theme in the Thrift contest. Several high school students plan to enter the One Act Play Contest directed by Mrs W E B Smith.

Fifth Grade Program Highlights and Local Games
Pupils in the fifth grade presented an engaging program last Tuesday. The junior-senior English class completed Hamlet. The Shiner-Bobkat game dated January 81 was forfeited to the Bobkats by Shiner. Hobkats topped the town All-Stars 48 to 23 with Arthur Sehodde leading scoring at 23 points.

School Girls Defeat Town Ladies 18 to 8 in Match
Evelyn Koester led scoring as the school team defeated the town ladies 18 to 8. Students listened to an afternoon program broadcast from St. Louis on the Life of Columbus, the National School of the Air’s first lesson. Thanks were extended to Mr. Leazar for radio use. The sophomore class received their long awaited pins, and the remark was made to recognize sophomores by their new pins.

Woman Bitten by Cat With Hydrophobia In Texas
Shiner Texas February 11 Mrs Ben Schultz was bitten on the arm by a pet house cat. The cat head was sent to the Pasteur Institute in Austin where hydrophobia was found. Mrs Schultz left at once for Austin to receive treatment.
