Public School notes show the freshmen started Scott's Lady of the Assembly but postponed last Thursday due to stage improvements. The fifth grade will perform this week and proceeds from the Christmas program funded six public speaking books for declamation practice.
The Hallettsville Bobkat matchup was postponed again last Friday because several Moulton players were ill. The girls game was also postponed.

Joseph D. Sayers Jr., 66, of Gonzales died Sunday in Houston. Funeral services were held in Gonzales this afternoon. Survived by wife formerly Ollie Lockhart of Houston, sister-in-law Mrs. W. B. Sayers and her sons W. B. Sayers Jr. and J. D. Sayers Jr. Born in Gonzales, he was nephew of former Governor Joseph D. Sayers. He led Miller, Sayers & Co. bank and managed the local ice company. Interment at Maconie Cemetery with Rev. B S. McKensie officiating.
Henry Krueger announces his candidacy for re election as constable of Precinct No 6 subject to the Democratic primary in July. He has served nine years in the office and pledges to continue his prompt discharge of duties.
Mrs Frank Mikes Jr died Tuesday at her home northeast of Moulton. Funeral was held Wednesday at 3 PM with burial in Moulton Catholic Cemetery. She was 82. Survived by her husband and five children.
Leonard Whittington secretary of the Republican Party in Texas and noted newspaper man and American Legion worker died at his Fort Worth home after months of illness. He was in his 46th year.
Dr Sam Jaeggli and Edwin Jaeggli made a trip to a local nursery last Friday, stopping to view plants and discuss garden plans with staff. The pair appeared in good spirits during the visit.
Ed D. Meyer served as a business visitor in San Antonio during the early part of the week, engaging in meetings and networking activities. He conducted professional calls, visited local firms, and explored potential collaborations with regional entities.
G. J. Bohnenkamp and George von Lienen traveled to Cuero on Tuesday for court business, engaging in official duties and related proceedings.
Rud Valenta of Shiner spent last Friday in Moulton visiting relatives and handling business matters.
Mrs Walter Warneke and her baby visited relatives and friends in Moulton over the weekend, traveling from Shiner to the area for a short stay.
Mrs William Darilek of Schulenburg and Miss Emily Darilek of Hallettsville visited home folks in the city last weekend.
Mr and Mrs Owen Brown and their baby from Hallettsville spent Sunday in Moulton visiting her parents Mr and Mrs Charles O Riske.
Mrs Henry Koester fell on January 24 and sustained a fracture to her left arm. The injured limb is mending nicely, and the family is glad to report.
More rain fell this week and roads are in bad condition with very few cars passing. The winter highlighted the urgent need for better road infrastructure.
The Rev. Krienke of Round Rock cancelled his appointment at Zion's Lutheran church on Sunday because of bad roads. He expects to be here sometime in March for rescheduled services.
Miss Elizabeth Bargman of Gonzales recovers after a week of illness and is getting along nicely. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. T. Fehrenkamp of this city.
Work on the Joe Bohuslav brick building on Main Street advances for a talking moving picture show. Freytag and Cinadr expect to be ready for business about March 1.
Mr Anton Mueller and family Mr Arthur Willberg and family Henry Schraer and Paul Hohen of Rowena were in Moulton the first part of the week visiting relatives and friends. They report that their section had very little rain this winter.

Filing rules require single people with net income 1500 or more or gross 6000 or more plus married couples with net income 8500 or more or gross 5000 or more to file. Period ends March 15 1980 at the district collectors office. The Augustus McCloskey Harry Wurzbach election contest for Texas 14th district ended Monday with McCloskey conceding to Wurzbach. Wurzbach, a Republican, previously served in Congress and resides in Seguin.
Inclement weather last Sunday forced the Hermann Park Verein to postpone its annual masquerade ball. Organizers note the event will now be held Sunday night February 16 and urge poetry enthusiasts of motion to take notice.

Mrs. Joe C. Kopecky is recovering well after a blood poisoning case that followed an accidental puncture from a fork in her finger. The incident required surgical attention but her condition is improving.
Ed Rothbaur, former Moulton boy, spent several hours in town last Friday greeting friends. He told The Eagle that his parents Mr and Mrs Lorenz Rothbaur now live on a ranch in Colorado and are doing well. The elder Rothbaur is a skilled musician who toured many countries in his youth.
The notice invites attendance at Sunday services at Zions Lutheran Church on February 9 1930. It lists 9 39 AM Sunday School and Bible Class and 10 30 AM German service. It urges worship as important for personal and eternal benefit and welcomes visitors. A H Falkenberg is the pastor.
The State Democratic Executive Committee meeting in Austin voted to exclude as candidates all persons who bolted the presidential nominee in 1928, but invited them to participate in the primary this year.

Members of the 42 Club and guests enjoyed a Thursday afternoon gathering at Mrs O A Darilek's home. Jaeggli won first with a bed lamp, Frank Raab placed second with a gown, and a luncheon of potato salad, lettuce, pickles, sandwiches, cake and coffee was served.
