Taxpayer loss in $64,000 Question urged by Akron editorial
An Akron Beacon Journal editorial argues the $64,000 Question shows how high income tax rates deter risk taking. It notes an unmarried contestant with $4000 income could net $16,600 after a $32,000 win but only $8708 more to reach $64,000, with the Government taking $384,711 of a $448,711 gross prize.
