In Shiner on December 16 the Bobkatz beat Shiner High by 30 points as Moulton led throughout with a 61 to 31 final. The local B team lost 25 to 23 after leading early, while reports mention Bobkatz also losing to Waelder on another page.
Beran's Receive Mixing Certificate Grindt Ment EF Co. ofton issues a Purina Check-A-Mix certificate approving the local feed dealer to blend Purina Micro mixed supplements with farmers grains under approved formulas. Samples sent to Purina Research Lab in St. Louis showed less than 0.5 percent protein variation, ensuring accurate ingredient quantities for livestock and poultry rations. Five occupants perish in a two-vehicle collision on Lavaca County 77 near Hallettsville. A 1955 Pontiac bound for a football game at Waco and a 1947 Chrysler coupe collided head on after the Chrysler crossed into the wrong lane. One survivor remains in critical condition.

The Witting PTA held its second meeting on December 12 at 7:00 p.m. President Walter Schoenvogel called the meeting to order and Secretary Mrs. Kuhen read the previous minutes, which were approved as read. All business places in Moulton will be closed Monday December 26 due to Christmas Day falling on Sunday. Officials urge residents to plan shopping accordingly.
The Witting School will hold its Christmas program tonight Thursday December 22 beginning at 7 o'clock. Students will perform songs and readings for the community at the school auditorium.

George Jasek living two miles northeast of town recovered a weather radio transmitter Monday December 19 found in his field attached to a parachute. The device was discovered in good condition and reported to authorities.
Catherine Ann was born at Helms Hospital Friday evening December 16. She was interred at St. Josephs Catholic Cemetery with Rev Father Kopp officiating. Survivors include her parents one brother Jimmie Darilek and grandparents Mr and Mrs Emil Darilek Sr.
